VOICE
How notes become pitch. GrindSub is monophonic with last-note priority, and it remembers held notes: release the top note of a trill and the held one comes back.
- Voice mode. Retrig starts every note fresh: the pluck restarts from zero and the level re-attacks from wherever it is, so nothing steps. Legato lets overlapping notes glide into each other without restarting.
- Glide (0 to 2000 ms): exponential slide between pitches; the time is how long the slide takes to close 90% of the gap. Because both paths and the keytracked filter follow the same pitch, everything slides together.
- Legato only: glide engages only when notes overlap. Falling back to a held note after a release always glides.
- Bend (0 to 24 st): pitch bend range.
- Velocity (0 to 100 %): how much a key’s velocity sets the note’s level. 0 %, the default, plays every note at full; 100 % is the keyboard’s own curve. A bass line at one level is the whole idea, so start at 0 and add only what you want.
- Sustain pedal (CC64) holds notes after the key comes up, and the held-note memory holds with it: lift the pedal and the voice falls back to whatever key is still down, or releases if none is.
